Does any one know anything about the program at Tulane? I was thinking of doing a 4th year elective there.
Thanks.

i am a second yr res at tulane. it is a busy university program where you still get a lot of autonomy, i.e. operate w/o staff. we get a tremendous trauma experience and i think the subs are pretty well covered. new orleans is a fun town with great indoor and outdoor activities (world class fishing-minutes away) i am from the northeast and the residents are pretty much from all over the country, with very few from louisiana

I interviewed there a few months ago. The faculty were very nice and the residents seemed to be a bunch of jokers (my favorite type of people). They don't mind telling you it is a very busy trauma center and they get to do a ton of cases. The only drawback I can see to doing a rotation there is that they might give you an exit interview. If this is the case you will miss out on the greatest Ortho interview on the trail during the regular interview season (my AST is still elevated!) I ranked them quite high. :smokin:
