A lot of people are now starting to get rejections (sucky as it may be) - and it's making more than a few (including myself) a little nervous/edgy.

Being a numbers guy, I thought I'd post some stats, just to give an example of another applicant. Maybe others will follow suit.

Total Apps: 60
Programs that have sent out interviews that I applied to: 12
Interview offers: 3 (25%)
Rotations that count as interviews: 2
Total Interviews: 5
Rejections: 2 (Wake, Med Coll of GA)
-I'm a pretty average applicant

Randomly posting this kind of stuff might help keep us all on pace with where we're at - so people don't have to continually ask, "How am I doing?"
Total Apps: 56
Programs that have sent out interviews that I applied to: 8
Interview offers: 0 (0%)
Rotations that count as interviews: 0
Total Interviews: 0
Rejections: 0
-I am also a pretty average applicant

I think "average applicant" needs to be defined. Like a simple inclusion of Steps 1 & 2 (where available) scores may help (if you are comfortable to do so). Ranges are find too.

I think average is defined by the average stats for matched applicants as reported by the NRMP.

I think average is defined by the average stats for matched applicants as reported by the NRMP.

Average for matched is 238 (US Seniors) and 226 (Independent). Thus, one could say:

Below Average = <230
Average = 230-245
Above Average = >245

Well, I feel better now that I see someone with an application like yours that hasn't heard much either. The other applicants from my school are going through the same crap. One interview each...only where we rotated. It is nerve-racking.

Re applicant; Step 1: 230s, Step 2: 240s; Top 20 med school; not AOA, I think about top quarter of class; Research: 20+ papers, posters, and presentations, most ortho related.

I'm feeling pretty good so far. Honestly never sure how it will go the second time around, just happy I'm getting interviews anywhere.

wow.. 140.. I thought I was intense with 83!

Is 140, all of the programs? Geez that must have cost over 3 grand!!

Good luck to you man, I also fell victim of the non-match last year...Hopefully things will be better.

So far 3 interviews, 1 rejection, 1 waitlist.. the others that have offered, eh.. 6 or so.. I'm not taking any stock in those, since other people were given rejections for them.. maybe I'll be lucky

Almost all. I figured the whole interview invite thing is so random, especially the second time around, might as well cough up the extra money to cover everything. When February rolls around I'd rather be in the position of feeling like I wasted $1000 than wish I had a couple more places to rank (ie. the opposite of how I felt last year)
