I would not consider a 235 "inbetween" - I view that as a great score and wouldn't worry about it at all. Again, my perspective is that if a program doesn't like your 235 step 1 that seems awfully silly. Not sure a 240 step 2 will change their minds much and wouldn't stress about it - 3rd year clerkships are probably more important in the grand scheme of things.

Although I'm getting a year older tomorrow, it wasn't that long ago that we were all in your shoes - no problem!

Hi. How do admission comittees use the step 2 score if it is reported? Does a phenomenal step 2 completley overcome an modest step 1 score or is the equation more complicated? Do some programs not even care if you did significantly better on step 2? For example, what do programs who "screen" based on step 1 scores do with a person who did ok on it but rocked step 2? Thanks.

What is considered an in between score? 225 to 230? I have a score in this range and have put off Step 2 until December b/c I am doing four orthopedic subI rotations. Will taking Step 2 later witha step 1 score in this range hurt me significantly?
