Step 2 Score Release was created by orthored
I have a dilemma when it comes to releasing my Step 2 score. I hava a competitive Step 1 score in the mid 240's, but dropped to a 239 on Step 2. Should I release this score to appease schools that want to see a Step 2 score? Or should I ride my Step 1 score? These scores are both 99's using the other scoring method, for argument's sake. Any input is appreciated.

Can programs see that you have selected not to have your score released, or do they simply see something to the effect of "Score Not Available" just as they would if you haven't taken Step 2 yet? Just curious if there is any distinction from the program's end?

i asked this question from the registrars office at my school. they said that i cant release the step 2 score to only one school (if through eras). once i release it on eras it is available for every school to download....

which is why i really wish i had studied more for step 2 ...

Replied by on topic Step 2
No one is going to be concerned about "dropping" to a 239 on step 2. Happy new year and good luck --
