Kind of a weird question, but I was wondering 1) If there are any 2nd yr orthopedic prelim positions in the country that you knew about, where you do some type of Orthopedic 2nd yr, (I know that there is no standard 2nd yr, and that there is a wiiiide variation on program structure yrs 2-5) - But at least some program that one could do an orthopedic R2 yr of some sort.
2) If after doing this R2 year, would it be possible to interview for categorical third year spots that may open up, as a few do open up from year to year. I know only your last 24 months have to be in the same program to graduate from ortho, but to my knowledge, I am not sure if prelim R2 years might count toward the total requirement the way prelim R1 years do. I was hoping you could help on this, appreciate it.
