I go to school in the northeast, Will doing two away rotations in new york before I send my applications out this fall jeopardize my chances of getting interviews from schools from other regions in the country like midwest/south?
I'm planning on doing additional aways in the south and west coast but after my applications go out (in September and October) if that would make any difference!
Don't worry about how it looks - choose your sub-I's where you most want to be an orthopaedic surgery resident. Remember you still are most likely to match at a program where you rotate. Do your due diligence and speak to alumni from your school, spouse/significant other, mentors and determine your geographic wishes and then choose accordingly.
