curious who got into what DO programs,
and is your program linked or non linked
i heard next year they all have to be linked.
Are there any other LEVEL 1 trauma DO prgrams besides in Ft. Laudedale????
I think that PCOM, and SOM (philly and sojo respectively) rotate at Cooper, which is level 1. They have Dr. Ostrum there who does pelvises (pelvi?), and they see some pretty good trauma. I am not a DO, but I went to med school at cooper. We just lost our distinction as the most dangerous city in the US (fell to 5th, which makes you wonder if they use stats, or BCS rankings). Anyway, hope this helps
Peninsula has two Level I hospitals we rotate through: NUMC and North Shore Manhasset. We're affiliated with 6 hospital throughout LI, 1 hospital in NJ, and Peds in Cinn, OH.
no such thing as non-linked anymore...
Most DO programs arent AT level 1's, but most rotate through at least 3-4 months of trauma at a level 1. At Botsford, we go to Tampa General for trauma for 4 months.
Here in Columbus, we do the vast majority of our specialty rotations at a Level-I trauma center, all here in Columbus...and we are there every week for trauma conference for three hours...tough to beat. We have a VERY strong exposure to Level-I trauma throughout our 5 years.
Any of you DOs on here ever rotated at the ortho program in Olympia Fields, IL or are/know current/past residents. I've been struggling to find individuals who've been there or head things about their program! Help a fellow DO out please.
