MD vs DO application

I'm an FMG MD with good board scores, board certification in PM&R, and fellowship trained in Interventional Spine. I didn't even apply to MD programs originally as FMGs rarely are offered interviews for MD spots. I am thinking of applying for advanced standing in Ortho. Is it worth my time to apply to DO programs? Do the DO programs even accept MDs?

DO spots are for DO grads only. Sorry.

MD spots, though, are for MD and DO grads.

Something about that just doesn't seem right, does it... Then why should MD programs consider DO students?
