If its the one in Ohio, it appears to be a very low-quality endeavor (at least from my interview experience). They pride themselves on diversity and embracing manipulation in orthopaedic surgery training, and don't seem to be focused on the best training for residents.
Combine that with the community vibe, and it just wasn't for me. Wasted money and time for the trip to interview. I didn't even rank it.
Just my opinion.
gardien;
You seem to have a very strong opinion based only on an interview.
I also interviewed at this program and spoke at length with current residents. This program made a very strong and positive impression on me. Later in the interview trail, I spoke with several students who also interviewed there and everyone was impressed.
I understand that different people will have different experiences and opinions, but in this case, your opinion seems to be in contrast to the general consensus.
Your negative review/post of the new Oregon program is also in sharp contrast to the opinions of several students who rotated there last year.
It is hard to find reliable and good info on programs when deciding where to rotate.
I would suggest to readers trying to decide where to rotate to take the little info available regarding DO programs from online forums such as this "with a grain of salt."
