Has anyone heard anything about PCOM, is it worth rotating there? I can't seem to find any recent info on the program. Any help would be appreciated.

I ask because I am trying to decide between rotating at Toledo, Grandview, or PCOM, and I hear PCOM is more inclined to take students from PCOM.

There are two current posts about PCOM from both this application cycle and the last one under the "DO Programs"

PCOM-
Pros]

2. PCOM- I would argue one of the top tier DO programs with all subspecialites covered in the area. Joints and Shoulder/Elbow with the Rothman Institute, Hand with Philly Hand Center, Trauma at Cooper in South Jersey. Travel to Baltimore and Boston (New England Baptist) for enrichment in certain areas, not because case numbers are inadequate in Philadelphia. Well respected within the Philly area compared to the plethora of other ortho programs in town. Took 6 residents this year. Lifestyle is tough as a junior (PGY 2/3) with covering multiple hospitals on call, but gets better as you go up. Tough academic schedule but the residents were some of the most well-read and knowledgeable that I saw on the trail. Program director is the team doc for the 76'ers and a real stand up guy who takes care of his residents and they work hard for him in return. Lots of cases and lots of work, but you are an outstanding surgeon. Seniors doing fellowsips in Joints (Rush), Foot and Ankle (Penn, Michigan International), and Sports (SoCal).

Of the incoming class of five, four are PCOM and one is from Touro NV. Of the previous class: two are PCOM-PA, one is PCOM-GA, one is VCOM, one is Touro-CA, and one is Touro-NV. They don't "favor" PCOM per say, it's just easier for PCOM kids to gun at the program and it's all about face time with the chairman there as was mentioned above. Good luck.

This is a question about the actual rotation for those of you who have previously rotated there. Is there a lot of travel between hospitals/ clinics in the Philly area? If so, is there adequate public transportation or do I need a car. I'm not from that area and do not know a whole lot about it. Thanks.
