The Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is a world-renowned institution and a leader in pediatric musculoskeletal care, education, and research. Currently ranked #7 by the US News and World Report Best Pediatric Hospitals survey, TCH is located in the heart of the largest medical center in the world in Houston, TX. Research fellows have the opportunity to be involved in multiple research projects mentored by any of our 21 pediatric orthopaedic surgery faculty members who treat a spectrum of rare musculoskeletal diseases to common conditions, including neuromuscular conditions, musculoskeletal oncology, lower extremity deformity, developmental hip conditions, trauma, infections, sports medicine, and scoliosis.
As TCH is the largest free-standing hospital in the USA, these conditions can be seen at a volume unique to any hospital system. Dr. Simon P. Kelley, the Chief of the Division of Orthopaedics, and Dr. Scott B. Rosenfeld, Associate Chief of Research and Education, will provide direct mentorship for the students during the year. Research fellows will have the independence to work remotely when necessary while also having the ability to get exposure to the clinic, OR, and collaborate with residents, fellows, and attendings.
