Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare invites 3rd year medical students to apply for a fully funded one-year spine research fellowship, to start July 1, 2024.

The fellow will be involved in a variety of research projects designed to answer questions in the areas of pediatric spine disorders, patient safety, healthcare equity, as well as medical economics. 

Completed projects will be submitted for publication in high-quality journals and presentation at regional, national, and international conferences.Fellows will gain experience in all facets of research activities from conception through dissemination.

In addition to research activities, fellows will have the opportunity to build their fund of knowledge through daily didactic educational sessions and shadowing experiences in the operating room and outpatient clinics. Mentorship will be provided formally by the clinical and research leadership teams.

Qualified candidates will have:
•     Completed their 3rd year of medical school.
•     Be in good academic standing and
•     Have an interest in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery and/or spine surgery.

Students whose backgrounds and/or identities are underrepresented in orthopedics are encouraged to apply.
