The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Michigan State University is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team! This is a unique, full-time, paid position designed for students who are serious about pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery and academic medicine. This will primarily be under the mentorship of Toufic R. Jildeh, MD.

At this time, we are only considering applicants from U.S.-accredited allopathic or osteopathic programs, preferably MS3 or MS4 students with a strong passion for orthopaedic research. Prior research experience is preferred, and statistical experience is strongly valued. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can work independently, stay organized, and bring energy and curiosity to our research mission.

Responsibilities:
You’ll be an integral part of a productive and collaborative research environment.
- Managing multiple ongoing research projects
- Organizing, maintaining, and advancing all aspects of each project through completion
- Assisting with data collection, manuscript writing, and submissions
- Collaborating with undergraduate students, medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty
- Presenting research updates at weekly team meetings alongside statisticians and research coordinators
- Collecting patient-reported outcome data
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations and educational materials for regional and national meetings
- Participating in clinic and operating room experiences (optional)
