Reply Case Western - Did Anyone Rotate There
Hi,

As I'm sure a lot of you are doing, I keep looking at my darn rank list, even though the thing is certified, and thinking . . . maybe if I moved this program up a little more. Anyways, did anyone not just interview but rotate at Case (as an extern or as a med student who goes there, doesn't matter to me)? If there are such people out there, what do you think of it compared to other programs you've interviewed and/or rotated at?

Sorry in advance to take away from the thrilling "Do we want chicks in ortho?" thread. =)

Mike-
I have yet to see a better program anywhere. I think CWRU has a great balance of all the subspecialties of ortho. Metro (which unfortunately you DONT see at the interview) is a fantastic trauma center. University Hospitals is also a great place to learn and train. All of the residents are happy, and they are great people to be around. Saturday grand rounds may be a deterrent for the faint of heart, but everything has its price. And finally, Cleveland is a better town than most people think. You cannot lose with this program.

Yup,

I kind of thought the same thing . . . but what do you mean by Saturday conference being a deterrant. Just because it's on Saturday or because of how its run (i.e. a malignant firing squad goes after the guy in front)?

Both programs ni Cleveland are second to none. I think anyone would be happy to match at either program.

Cleveland is actually a pretty cool city (not Boston, Chicago, etc, but not bad).

Case's Saturday conference is not malignant, from what I've heard, just on Saturday morning, which kind of sucks.

Good luck in the match.
