"Dear program director, thank you for offering me an oppurtunity to interview for a residency position. Unfortunatly, due to a scheduling conflict I will be unable to attend."

I figured I'd start a thread comparing # of interview invites to # of interviews that we can actually schedule along with a few other things. So, here are my stats as of right now:

applications- 54
Invites - 23
rejections - 13
still waiting on the rest - lets go New York and Chicago, what's the hold up?
interviews currently scheduled: 11 (yup, that's <50%, how much does this suck!!! Why does everybody want to interview on 12/10 and 12/17?)

So, I've had to decline or cancel more then 1/2 of my interview offers, which is slightly less maddening than checking my email 10 times a day waiting to hear from yet another program that will either reject me or offer me an interview on January 10th. But I'm not bitter. How is everybody else doing?
yo ass - I mean masshole,

I think most of us are having similar issues -

I applied to 34
have been offered 15 thus far
and have to cancel 3

Still waiting to hear from 10 more, I think

So I have not been as screwed by the 1/10, 1/17 etc dates as you, but I would have loved to attend some that overlap.

Oh well, I guess you can't complain about being offered too many interviews. The more you are offered, even if you can't attend them, the more likely you are to match!

Applied 30
Invitations 19
Rejections 6
Scheduled 13 (probably staying at that)

1/10 and 1/17 have been very popular dates for me as well, but I would much rather have that problem than not enough offers!
Cheers...
