Do most programs formally reject you or do they just blow you off entirely without an e-mail or letter?

Just curious because I have applied to a few programs that have already given out some interviews and some rejections and I didn't get either. My application is far from superb so it seems odd that I haven't heard either way. Thanks.

I wonder how many they interviewed ? The thing said 10%, but out of what ?? They only have two spots, maybe they only invited like 20 (our PD only invited 16 for 3 spots once, he knows what he's looking for though).
I'd be curious to see the stats of who got invites from them vs. who got dissed, wonder if there's any pattern, be it regional, score related, research, etc. Oh well, 49/49 would have been such a terrible burden anyway

so I've gotten an invite from wake, but an f-you from indiana... and absolutely no word from like 95% of the places I applied, though there's been talk about invites/rejections about a lot of them on the forum... who know's what's going on? my inbox is so quiet, and I'm going to go nuts if I open a "new mail" screen and see one more spam-mail for viagra...

It's still early, as long as I havn't gotten rejections, I'm not freaking out...yet.
