Mt. Sanai just gave me the "we have carefully reviewed your ENTIRE application and have concluded that you're a midwestern hillbilly that is not suitable for our program. However, good luck on matching with your own kind." Cant wait to spend Christmas day unconscious under the tree covered with Milwalkee's Best and vomit.

Rejection from University of Minnesota - Happy Holidays!!

Called New York Med (Queens Brooklyn) today... they said notices went out 2 weeks ago by snail mail and all invites are confirmed. Just thought I would post this since I didnt see anybody list an invite or rejection from there.
Also called Lennox Hill.... told over the phone no interview.

i was really holding out for my hjd interview, but they finally rejected me today.

now if the other four programs who haven't returned emails, phone calls or bothered to reject me on their own (you know who you are lenox hill, san fran, etc), would get off of their collective butts and reject me, that would be nice (i am not still hoping for interviews, it would just be courteous).

anyone else besides me just think that that is VERY unprofessional? i spent $25 on them, they can't spend 20 seconds sending me a form email saying i suck, and that i should be drawn and quartered for even thinking about applying to their program.

i gotta give credit to temple, hss and indiana, who spent $0.37 and used a nice piece of departmental stationary to reject me.

I have a few programs that fit into this category, Including one that has put me on their wait list for interviews...At this point, I could care less. It seems like every place that I go to I like. I just want to do ortho and I think I would be happy anywhere. One more interview would just add to the confusion. Its hard to tell who is being honest with you and who is not.

my point wasn't that I wanted more interviews, just that I expected more professional behavior than the "assume you are rejected unless you hear from us" approach.

i guess my sarcasm wasn't apparent with my "I was really holding out for my hjd interview, but they finally rejected me today." maybe i should have included one of these

i am so done with interviews that i have started to grow my superstitious, playoff hockey-type beard (no shaving for 6 weeks; my wife is not happy with me).
