I got an email through ERAS today from Loyola about this? Has anyone else gotten one of these, and does the link for the video work for any of y'all?
I received an e-mail from both Loyola and Baylor College of Medicine-Houston today with "video interview" invites. I haven't tried the link yet (going to prepare some answers to presumed questions first...) but Baylor was kind enough to include the schools participating in the video interview pilot this year:

Baylor College of Medicine

University of Florida

Harvard Combined Residency Program

Greenville Health System

University of Mississippi

Northwestern University

Loyola University Medical Center

Carolinas Medical System

University of Pittsburgh

Same here, also said there are 8 total questions with 5 general base questions that go to all programs then 3 program specific questions.

Pretty frustrating. I attempted to do it, got to question 6/7 and then the system froze and said unable to access server.... there goes an hour of my day. Some of us are still on aways

Also, be aware that after you click the link from ERAS and put your name in the video interview link will expire in 72 hours. I'm not sure if you can just renew it afterwards.

Got the email from Baylor and Loyola through ERAS as well.

In addition to what others said, they don't provide the questions until after to start the process. 2-5 minutes to prepare for each question followed by 3 minutes to record. You aren't allowed to re-record your responses.

This was a surprise email, and completing this within the unexpected 72 hour deadline while on away rotations is tricky. What kind of questions are they asking us?

If we don't click the link, does this mean we have more than 72 hours? aka does the deadline not activate until we click the link? I'm also on an away and I agree that it is quite tricky especially if you're on call like some people are

The link appears to be the same for the programs and then when you click the link, the website says you only need to fill out the video form once (even though I agree the Baylor email said there were program specific questions). I did not get any program specific questions in my process.

I think once you click the link and enter your name the deadline starts, but doesn't start until you've done both of those things.

The other programs sent out their program specific questions to me today. These ones look to have about a 1 week deadline, so a bit more feasible for y'all on always. Good luck everyone.

Loyola and Baylor had sent me the original link, and I did it yesterday. Today I woke up with the specific questions for Baylor, Northwestern, University of Florida and Greenville. I haven't heard back about the video supplement from UPMC or Harvard yet, and I guess CMC too.

Hey there! Thanks to everyone for this information.

Is the University of Florida video interview for the Gainesville program, Jacksonville program, or both? Thanks!

Like nr23, I got program specific invitations for Northwestern, Baylor and UF...although I didn't apply to UF through ERAS (and yes, it's Gainesville)...I think these are just part of the application process, not an indication of an interview invitation.

Can also confirm the program specific questions are a 1 week deadline from completing the common video questions.

Chill about the questions - they're things you could already anticipate / ideally answer like why would you be interested in their program (just spend a few minutes looking into them or if you have friends that go there, talk to them)

I just put my name in and it gave me 7 days instead of 3 to complete the interview. Is that just me or did they change/extend the deadline? Kind of confused because I don't want to do it in 4 days and find out that the link expired.

I only got 3 days from when I signed up. You'll continue to get email reminders almost everyday telling you to complete it with the deadline in the bottom of the email, so I guess you just have to trust the deadline stated or just pump it out.

One aspect I dont completely understand is that people are getting the initial video invite(s) and then offers to complete program-specific questions from different programs. Idk what to make of this.

I received the initial invite from Loyola. After completing the general video questions, the following day I received a notification from Harvard, UF, Northwestern, Greenville. and Baylor to complete their program speficic questions.

Does anyone know if this has any indication of their interest in you as an applicant?

From what I can gather, it seems to be unrelated to school interest or even application (i.e if you applied to any of these schools, you may be asked to submit your video interview to the others).

I just got a notification from Northwestern inviting me to complete this "optional" video interview. Is this whole thing optional or is it a application pool thinning tool? Thoughts?

To be honest, none of us have any clue what these mean, or if they're optional or not. I'm going to venture a guess that it's probably better to do them no matter what, and whether or not they put any weight on it remains to be seen. We're all in the same boat and this is the first year they are using it, from what I've heard. So good luck to everyone, hopefully it all works out for every one of us.
