Position: 1 year paid clinical research fellowship in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at the Vanderbilt University Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Timeline: July 2025 - June 2026 (1 year) or July 2025 - June 2027 (2 year)

Description: Outstanding research opportunity with the Spine Division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. The Research Fellow will be involved with prospective and retrospective research clinical projects involving the spectrum of spine surgery. We have access to the Vanderbilt Spine Registry, which is one of the longest-running clinical spine registries in the US. Access to this data will allow the fellow to maximize productivity and the number of publications they achieve during the year. The fellow will also work closely with Attending Surgeons and Orthopaedic Residents, maximizing their exposure to the field of orthopaedic surgery and enhancing their residency application.

Ideal candidates are highly motivated medical students who are looking to boost their CV in order to match in competitive orthopedic residency programs. US medical students can apply for either 1 or 2 year track options. International medical students / graduates can apply for the 2 year track option. A competitive stipend is provided to the fellow. To date, we have had a 100% success rate in setting up our fellowship's graduates to match into orthopaedic surgery residency. We take the mentorship process very seriously and care about your development not only as a researcher, but also as a aspiring orthopaedic surgeon.
