Haven,t heard a thing applied 10/04/02 to 36 programs. Has anyone else heard even if its a nay?
To Last years applicants how long did the programs have your apps before you got a response? I am using ADTS to time how long they have had my apps and if I dont here in a week---30 more programs here I come!!!

Relax guys, form what I have heard, a lot of programs don't even tell you that your app is complete. They just start inviting you to interviews in early November.

Calm down y'all. Most programs won't send letters notifying you of your interview status until they have received all of the applications--that means AFTER the deadline has passed. I wouldn't run off and apply to 30 more programs if programs have your information for more than a week--that's being a bit harsh, unless you are truly God's gift to orthopaedics and are just that stellar. Wake is nice because they let you know the status of your application, but most won't do that. You'll have to call to make sure your application is complete. I suggest doing that about a week before the deadline of a particular program. It's still early in the game--remain calm and all will work out fine. :roll smile:

I know a guy who got an invite from Wayne State a few days ago. But he submitted early Sept. I applied late Sept. and have not heard anything.

I'm an intern. I submitted my apps last year around mid-september. I heard from one program in october----->cincy, because they interview in november. I didn't even get my second wave of invites/rejections (aka stiff arms) until sometime in november. it's really early right now. and someone's right about saying that some programs won't acknowledge that your ap is complete. in fact, I'm an intern and I'm STILL waiting to hear from about 10 programs that I applied to that NEVER sent a response(yea, or nay). . . . . .I'm guessing that I didn't get interviews at those places

Yes, you are a wise-ass. That will quickly get you chucked from tons of interview piles. You may be advised, no matter what you hear, to rotate at 0 (ZERO) programs as this will only hurt your chances of matching.

Why is everybody so f?!*ing up-tight on this site? I was wondering, though, why you say that rotating HURTS your chances. Or were you referring to Sawbones only, because he's a wise-ass and never gonna impress anybody? I figure that rotating only hurts if you suck (granted it would be relatively easy to fall in the suck category considering we're all in competiton and almost all of us are cool....Except you, sawbones.)

Just got this email from Hopkins re: complete application notification. I submitted 10/5. (For anyone who is interested.)

As of 2:45p.m., 10/11/02, your file is complete for the Johns Hopkins Orthopaedic Residency Program with the exception of the Dean's Letters and/or transcripts which will come November 1.

Our Review Committee will receive your applications on November 4 to review. Their lists of selected interviewees will be submitted to me by Nov. 13. After I have received all the lists and make the edits in the ERAS system, you will be notified if you are or are not granted an interview. Our interview days are Saturday and Sunday, December 14/15. If chosen to interview, you will get a choice of which day. We interview approximately 50-60 applicants, about 25-30 each day.

I heard my app is complete from hopkins yesterday. Any other places sending this info out so I don't have to call?

Just wanted to remind anybody interested that Wake Forest has an Oct. 15 deadline coming up where they must have everything but Dean's letter or else you can say adios to that program (they were kind enough to tell me to get my ass in gear.) Also Case Western has been nice enough to tell me that they do need an undergraduate transcript and will be sending out invitations in early Nov. Thank God we have football to watch leaving minimal time to worry about this whole match thing

Well @$%&...I didn't realize Wake was due on Oct. 15. Looks like I am down one program before my app is even complete. Oh well, I still have 43 programs to go.

Speaking of football, anyone catch the Phins-Broncos last night? That was one of the best football games I have ever watched.

Rakmala - void of quality guys? McNabb, Gannon, Garcia, Breese, Culpepper, Farve, Bledsoe. Brady's a mac, so are these other guys. They can all make the throws. Fiedler on the other hand cannot. Griese is somewhere in between, but he's definitely got a better arm than Fieldler and usually makes good decisions. I would take Joey Harrington, who - rare for a hyped pick these days - is actually panning out for Detroit, over Fiedler in a second. Cause quarterbacking in the NFL is about two things: throwing accuracy and decision making - Fiedler suffers on both accounts. Go Fins.

Please tell me that you didn't mean to include Brees, or Cullpepper, brady, and Garcia for that matter, in the same group as Favre, Gannon, Bledsoe and McNabb. McNabb and Favre are head and shoulders above everyone in the league and Gannon and Bledsoe are probably a notch below them. The rest don't belong.

I do agree with your Harrington comments though. He will be one of the best for years to come.

I wasn't putting all those guys on equal footing. I was making the point that there are plenty of good QB's in the league today.

how can you leave Patrick Ramsey out of that group of elite quarterbacks? He might be the first quarterback in Spurier's career that has not been benched with that many picks

Got message from Boston University that app is complete. Interview offers will be sent in Nov. Only 1 interview day will be held on Jan 11th.
