family friendly programs?

The University of Wisconsin is a very family oriented program usually with only a couple of single residents. I made sure when I interviewed there that I told them I was engaged since my application said single.

The program at Kalamazoo Michigan is also pretty family friendly, currently out of the ten guys here 6 or 7 are married and several have kids. It is also a community where all the residents can afford to buy a house (should they want to). Also on the family friendly theme is home call all the time, although it does get old just getting home and then getting paged again, but hey you occasionaly get to eat dinner with your wife or see your kids, at least for a little while. Other places i went that i thought were family friendly were wichita, univ of kansas in kansas city, univ of missouri, dayton OH, Mayo is family friendly i guess since there is really no singles scene there!!

Medical College of Georgia is also family friendly. The majority of the residents there are married and own houses as well.

I've found Kentucky to be very family friendly. Out of 15 residents only three are single (my entire intern class) and one is engaged (PGY3) all the rest are married and many have children. Also, this is a very easy city to own a home in, raise rug rats etc..

my program, Ohio State, 7 of 21 are single (4 of the 7 are Pgy 4s. 7 of the 14 married ones have kids. All who want to own a home.

UCONN also stressed the importance of family life at their interview last year.
