We are excited to invite all medical students or recent graduates who are eager to plunge into in a one-year salaried clinical research fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. The research fellowship program is designed to provide candidates with invaluable experience in Orthopaedic Surgery & Foot and Ankle research while enhancing their competitiveness for residency applications. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, biomedical engineers, computer scientists, and most importantly, our residents. 

You will collaborate with researchers within MUSC and Clemson and be able to leverage our collaboration with Prisma in Columbia.  As a research fellow at the MUSC Foot and Ankle, you'll be responsible for:
  • Coordinating and managing our prospective research projects
  • Working with our residents and attending physicians to draft IRB protocols
  • Preparing abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and book chapters
  • Attending meetings to present our research
We ar seeking candidates with a strong passion for orthopaedic surgery (and Foot and Ankle!), a demonstrated interest in research, a good academic record, and preferably, prior research or stats experience. We will strongly support you with our research infrastructure including clinical research coordinators, research data coordinators, over 100 pre-existing projects, a unified electronic medical record and integrated patient reported outcomes captured for all ortho and sports medicine patients.
