Is there anyone else with just a couple of interview offers like myself at this somewhat late point...I can't help but be a little disappointed....

just wanna to remind to let programs know if u can't make it (scheduling conflicts, loss interest, too many interviews,etc).

sadly giving up thomas jefferson and allegheny b/c of scheduling conflicts. i've heard both are great programs.

good luck to next guy who might get the spots

Applied to 30, interviews at 6, rejected from 6 so far.

As for late interviews, I did a search for "interview invitations" and looked at the threads from last year. You can get an idea about which programs invite later from that. Granted anything can change, but if a program offered interviews last year in December, I would bet they would do the same this year. Check it out for some piece of mind.

Good luck to everyone.

Well. Long time observer, first time poster.

My name is "Mud", and I am an.............

Anyway, here goes.

Applied to 42 programs.

Invites 10
Interviews 8 (Couldn't schedule TWO due to scheduling conflicts!) This is frustrating to me, as I realistically have no idea which of the programs would be a better "fit" for me, so within reason, it is first-come first served. Anyone else running into this problem this "early" in the game?

Also, another gripe, anyone else curious about how late the Ortho programs seem to be relative to other specialties?

Still haven't gotten an invite from the HOME SCHOOL. WOW! (Yes, they have sent out invites!!)

Applied: 50 (doing the couple's match so applied to more than would have if single)
Invites: 20
Rejections: 2
Silent treatment: 5

What Soudes says makes sense, it is still way early.

The vast majority of my interviews are in the midwest. Seems the east & west coast like to sit for while before offering interviews. Also, my most recent 3 invitations were from programs that I was not in the "first wave." So if you haven't received any formal rejection yet, there is still hope.

good luck all.

Applied to 60 programs, with only 10 responses total to date. So far all 3 programs I've rotated with haven't sent out invites yet. Still early, still waiting it out.

Congrats to all those who are getting so many interviews - I am jealous

Anyways,

applications = 50

rejects = 9

offers to interview = 1

so I guess I am an example of those NOT doing so well - but like everyone is saying I am trying to keep the faith...take care everyone - good luck on the interview trail and be safe...

ok, i needed to add some input here, before this thread is gets ridiculous.

this is not a good sample of how many interviews the average accepted applicant gets (especially those who are gettting 75%).

first of all, the ones most likely to respond to this question are those doing very well.

secondly, in my opinion, the 'golden number' of interview to match is still about 10. if you get close to that number, you should be fine.

i matched at my first choice and i got 12 inteviews with 46 (i think) applications. and i think the average 'super candidate' only gets about 1/2 of their interviews. and also consider this: although it has been done, going to more that 18 interviews is near impossible. so even if you get 30 interviews, it is little more than a feather in your cap.

i know how stressed out about 95% of you are right now. please just take a deep breath and RELAX.

to those who are doing great, congrats. to the majority who are nervous, i hope makes you a little less so.

peace, and humptiness forever
