Political Advice Needed

Do they have a deadline for applications for away rotations? Maybe they look at their apps later than other programs.

If she doesn't send it in another couple of weeks as promised, tell her your concerns (that you'd like to rotate there early and don't want to miss the opportunity due to a late application)...if she still doesn't send it, then think about contacting someone else. If this is the residency coordinator, she would be the one who would deal with this. Don't go over her head just yet...it's still somewhat early.

I agree completely with ST. Having rotated at Rush, I know that it's still a bit early for them to be scheduling away rotators and certainly not a good idea to go over BKM's head. (Besides, who could you 'complain' to without sounding like a whiner?) I scheduled my Aug away in late June if I remember correctly. Patience young Jedi (but continue to be persistent within reason). :pimp:

I also want to do an externship at RUSH around november. They gave me the same story you got. They don't start accepting applications until after their students choose their fourth year electives...from what he said it sounded like the middle to end of this month...they also took down my info and said they would send me the application when they had them ready...I'm still waiting but they did call my house two days ago asking for my e-mail address. My roomate gave it to them and i never got an e-mail so who knows what they needed that for....I'm sure they are just busy and we'll hear from them soon....A friend of my said not to worry because they do not usually fill up their rotation spots this early.
