Yeah, I was kinda wiggin about that also, but my advisor in the ortho program here said that they get your app and check it out before they read any of your LORs. He suggested that its better to jut go ahead, bite the bullet, and hit that submit button, just take a really good look at it before you do. Good Luck :smokin:

I have already submitted my app without any letters. I will get my letters in by mid-oct, but I am letting myu numbers do the talking for now.

Just to clarify though, I submitted (locked in) the CAF about a month ago. You can do that before you even select any programs. My question is more with the list of programs that I'll be applying to. Are you guys assigning your LORs, PS, etc. and sending that list in BEFORE the actual letters are scanned into the system. I'm thinking I'm just gonna submit the list now anyway to get it in sorta early and to be done with it. :sick:

I assigned my USMLE and PS to every program, but I haven't assigned any letter writers yet. I will do that in mid-October.

I submitted my stuff early including unscanned letters. Programs understand that that stuff lags behind a little.

hey, another question about eras submission. can you submit your app without designating LORs?? i know you can submit it with them designated but not scanned.

I believe submitting the CAF is totally independent of the other components of ERAS.

I still haven't designated any letters, but my app has been in for three weeks.

I may be mistaken, but...

I think the CAF stands alone, and once you submit it, your school can start scanning in your LoRs.

Programs understand that LoRs are still arriving, so you might want to just assign the letters now (if you know which ones go to where) and not worry about it later. Check with your office, though, to see if your letter-writers need prompting.

I was able to make corrections and different versions of my PS after submitting my CAF.

While changed PS's and CAF's will be re-filed, the programs will still have your first one if they already downloaded it. Submitting a changed form does not erase the original IF they have down loaded it.

The change potential is possible mostly for updating contact information.
