The Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology (IGOT) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) offers a global health year-out research opportunity for a third or fourth-year medical student interested in orthopaedic surgery and global health.

IGOT's Research Fellowship supported by the Morgan and Madison McClellan Endowment is a competitive, paid program which allows a medical student to be exposed to hands-on experience in conducting orthopaedic research globally. The 10-month opportunity is for a third or fourth-year medical student interested in orthopaedic surgery and global health. The specialist research position is designed to build upon fundamental skills and hands-on research experience critical to implementing orthopaedic research projects globally. Past research projects have been conducted on-site across African and Latin American sites.
