Anyone know anything about U Md? I'm thinking about doing an elective there next year. I've heard good things, but was wondering what others have heard.

Thanks.

MD is definitely a program on the rise. Pelligrini seemed like a great guy during the interview. Definitely a trauma heavy residency with Shock Trauma there, although your trauma experience will be second to none (except maybe UWashington). As one interviewer said- "you have to like being up to your elbows in blood and s*&t if you come here". Basically q4 in-house call for 4 years. There is nice weekly city-wide ortho lecture series that goes on all year and rotates between MD, Hopkins, and Union. MD residents also do tumor at Hopkins (cant beat that!) Definitely will be a great program in 2-3 years.

seems like they have found good direction in the new chairman (pelligrini). he has a history of making programs better than when he starts (penn state). they seem like they are up and coming. definitely one to look into.
