Anyone with any feedback on this interview? It's tough for me to get there. Is it worth the trip?

b-diddy, the interview at UM is very laid back. You meet with 5-6 attendings 1 on 1 for approx 10 min each. Very standard interview questions, nothing difficult at all. All are very friendly. The day begins about 8:00 and they try to get you out by 1:00 or 2:00.

They are currently looking for a chair and are in the process or in need (not sure which) of expanding their dept.

The residents are all happy and get along very well. They take home call all 5 years. The majority of their trauma consists of industrial type accidents with very little from the knife and gun club. The only complaint I received from the residents was about the weather.

If you like small towns, Columbia is a pretty cool little town. It has a very low crime rate and an even lower cost of living- most residents in the program own their own home. Hope this helps.
