The Poggi Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship’s goal is to launch the careers of tomorrow’s leaders. This year of research is designed for medical students between their third and fourth years destined for a career in Orthopaedic Surgery. There are three components to the program: research, clinical exposure, and mentorship.

The Poggi Fellows will be involved in a variety of research projects. The research is designed to answer questions and solve problems in the areas of pediatric orthopaedic trauma, sports medicine, spine, hip and hand disorders, patient safety, healthcare quality and value, and medical economics. Students meet with Dr. Sponseller and the Department faculty several times weekly to assure satisfactory supervision and mentorship. The Poggi Fellowship offers a unique amount of clinical exposure, in both clinic and the OR, and near-daily contact with world-renowned faculty.
