The Division of Adult Reconstructive Surgery Research Center, within NYU Langone Health, Department of Orthopedics, has 3 research fellow job openings. These openings are for 1-year & 2-year full time positions as a research fellow in the division of adult reconstructive surgery beginning June 1st 2019. The opportunities afford a unique experience in high volume orthopedic research and offers engagement into the field of adult reconstructive surgery.

The positions work directly with the adult reconstruction faculty/principal investigators and study team.

Job Description:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
study recruitment;
consenting subjects;
scheduling and conducting study related visits, as required by the protocol;
study document management;
data collection and management;
attending research meetings, and;
Participation in educational, research and other activities related to spine.
manuscript writing
data analysis
journal submission

Minimum Qualifications:
Medical students in 3rd or 4th year

Or
Pre-Medical Students with statistical knowledge and research experience

Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities but are not limited to:
outstanding organizational and time-management skills;
excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to develop solid rapport with others;
excellent oral and written skills with the ability to write and conduct daily communications;
self-motivated, proactive learner;
ability to collaborate with a variety of investigators and individuals;
basic knowledge of statistics, data collection and management;
familiarity with computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel, and ;
ability to represent the NYU Langone Medical Center, internally and externally, in a professional and positive manner.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with statistical analysis and research in health related field

Benefits to the Fellow:
The fellow should expect to have 10 publications by the end of the research year. The fellow should expect abstract acceptance at major orthopedic conferences. Fellow will have the opportunity to be 1st author on all papers that he/she significantly contributes to
This will undoubtedly bolster and enhance competitiveness for a position in orthopedic residency. The ability to collaborate with Fellows, Orthopedic residents. Opportunities to attend Orthopedics Grand Rounds, Division Conferences, Journal Clubs
Opportunities to present research at Orthopedic Spine Conferences.
