The Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute is recruiting a highly-qualified medical student or recent graduate for a clinical research fellowship with a focus on spine deformity research.  The fellowship program will consist of three major components: research, mentorship, and clinical observation in the outpatient clinics and operating room. Priority will be given to applicants dedicated to a career in orthopedic surgery. The applicant should demonstrate a strong academic record, creativity, problem-solving ability, drive, organization, and a willingness to learn.  The applicant should also feel comfortable conversing and working with patients in the clinical setting.  

This funded fellowship position offers the prospect of producing and contributing to impactful research in the field of adult and pediatric spinal deformity. Fellows will benefit from hands-on learning opportunities with experts in spinal deformity regarding clinical management and research topics.  Travel and attendance at the Scoliosis Research Society meeting will be sponsored.
