Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Division of Orthopaedics, is looking for an exceptional individual interested in doing an adult reconstruction fellowship for the 2012-2013 academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated individual looking to expand and challenge his/her knowledge of orthopaedics and to work closely with Adult Reconstruction Orthopaedic Surgery faculty, including the division chairman, in clinic, surgical arenas, and research. The fellow should have: graduated from an LCME-accredited medical school or an AOA-accredited osteopathic school; completed an ACGME-accredited orthopaedic residency; be board-eligible or certified in orthopaedic surgery; ability to obtain a permanent Illinois license; and accepted on staff at affiliated hospitals. Please note that the interested individual should have a J1 VISA, greencard, or US citizenship.
The Adult Reconstruction fellow will be responsible for: the evaluation, admission, surgical procedures, and day-to-day management of adult reconstruction patients under direction of participating surgeons; education and supervision of orthopaedic residents; participation in the educational activities of the residency program; and involved in at least two research projects.
