The Division of Sports Medicine of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases invites third-year and fourth-year medical students to apply for a Clinical Research Fellowship in Sports Medicine at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. There are two annual fellowships that are awarded to senior medical students who have demonstrated keen interest in orthopaedics and are competitive future candidates for a residency in orthopaedic surgery.
An exceptional educational opportunity is now available this year in hip preservation. The Section of Hip Preservation in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University is beginning a fellowship experience that encompasses all aspects of hip preservation surgery. This experience includes: Hip arthroscopy, Periacetabular osteotomy, Surgical dislocation, Treatment of femoral head avascular necrosis with free vascularized fibula grafting, and Hip resurfacing. The experience is a one year fellowship under the direction of Steven A. Olson, MD.
The Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore invites all interested and qualified individuals to apply for a two-year orthopaedic research fellowship position with Michael Mont, M.D., Ronald Delanois, M.D., Harpal Khanuja, M.D, and James Nace, D.O.
The Division of Orthopaedic Hand Surgery at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases offers a one to two year Orthopaedic Hand Research Fellowship for recent college graduates and medical students interested in devoting one year of education to orthopaedic clinical research.
Fellows work closely with attending physicians, orthopaedic surgery residents, statisticians and other research staff in the hospital, clinic, and lab setting. The program works to develop and shape the fellow's ability to develop a hypothesis, conduct a review of the literature, and develop a protocol for execution of research projects. Fellows work in conjunction with attending physician mentors to submit the developed protocols to the Institutional Review Board for review and ultimately have the opportunity to follow their projects to fruition once approved.
The research fellowship position is ideal for post medical school students eager to improve their CV for residency match in the year 2014 with an orthopaedic focus.
