Sports Medicine Research Fellowship 2022-2023
The Mayo Clinic Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine invites third year medical students to apply for a one-year clinical research fellowship position starting late Spring 2022. There are two funded research fellowship positions for this upcoming year.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to strengthen their application for the Orthopedic Residency Match. The research fellow will be expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators; therefore, excellent organizational and communication skills are paramount. Duties include project design, scientific literature search, data collection, progress updates, and book chapter and manuscript preparation.

Our previous fellows have been prolific, with typically 20 or more accepted or published manuscripts and numerous abstracts accepted for presentation at national/international meetings during the year which they receive funding to attend. In addition, fellows have the opportunity to practice surgical skills and review relevant anatomy working in the cadaver lab with residents/attendings, take part in an online biostatistics course, and attend weekly didactic sessions in various disciplines within orthopedics to develop a strong fund of knowledge.

All 22 previous fellows have successfully matched in residency programs, and we are confident that our current fellows will match this year as well. If you have any additional questions regarding the fellowship, please contact our current fellows Anna Reinholz (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or Sara Till (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

For more information, you can view our fellowship information packet here:
You may also refer to the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine website for further information on the facility:

To apply, email your CV, two letters of recommendation, personal statement, picture, USMLE Step 1 score report, and medical school transcript to our current fellow Sara Till.

Thank you for your interest in our position!

Sincerely,
Christopher L. Camp, MD
