i am trying to figure out where to do my second away rotation and i could use the people of orthogate's expertise. i have already applied for an away at hopkins because i've heard that it is somewhere that residents get to operate early and get good overall operating experience. i was curious which programs are pretty well-respected and where their residents come out being very good surgeons, as this is the most important thing to me. thank you so much to everyone in advance.

I did an away there and loved the program. It is six years, which is a drag, but I think it sets them up well for any fellowship in the country. If you are looking for operative experience, the guys coming out of there can handle just about anything trauma. Yes, it is trauma heavy, but you also get great hand/sports/peds experience and a dedicated/prolific chairman. You could do a lot worse. PM if you want more information regarding the program.
