Orthopaedia, the world's best (and only, hence best) free and peer-reviewed textbook for students, now has a free and not-yet-reviewed AI Generated podcast
Dear Colleagues,
Twenty years ago, under the leadership of Toby King and the directors of the US Bone and Joint Decade (as it was known then) we started Project 100. Our goal was to ensure the inclusion of musculoskeletal medicine in the required curricula at 100% of all medical schools (hence the Project's name). Thanks to the collaboration of many dedicated colleagues, we have made significant strides. On my more optimistic days, I see our progress as a glass that is mostly, but not completely, full.
With that context, I am pleased to report another notable achievement: the completion of Orthopaedia.
Orthopaedia Project (https://orthopaedia.com), a free, comprehensive and peer-reviewed textbook of musculoskeletal medicine, published by the Codman Group and the United States Bone and Joint Initiative, is nearing completion.
As we approach the final stages of this project, we are seeking volunteers to assist in refining the accompanying Orthopaedia Student Study Guide. The task is to edit and enhance an extensive database of multiple-choice questions, to improve both accuracy and relevance to students.
In conjunction with United States Bone and Joint Initiative, The Codman Group will soon release ORTHOPAEDIA, a free on-line, peer-reviewed textbook of musculoskeletal medicine for medical students.
The Hand, Foot/Ankle, Sports, and Pediatric volumes are complete. (You can see them and the other volumes under development here: https://orthopaedia.com .
A recent JAAOS article, Orthopaedic Education During the COVID-19 Pandemic correctly observed that "schedule changes and increased availability in the setting of COVID-19” may offer “newfound time” and "unique opportunities for resident/fellow growth and development."
If you are a talented resident or talented medical student looking for a worthwhile opportunity for growth and development thing in their newfound time, perhaps you might want to contribute a chapter to Orthopaedia, a free on-line eBook in musculoskeletal medicine, produced by the US Bone and Joint Initiative and The (not-for-profit) Codman Group.

This article is a MUST read for ever visitor of Orthogate across the world. IF you have not read it already please read as it is the best explanation I have come across of what is currently going on with COVID-19 and highlights the differences between Flattening the Curve and Mitigation Strategies and a true Suppression Strategy.
