Interview Offers Thread 2009-2010

for planning purposes the dates offered are december 11th and 12th. i think that's a popular time for interviews for a bunch of different schools, so the odds are pretty good it seems that some folks currently on the waitlist will get an offer.

"Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you an interview at this time. However, your application will be retained and placed on a hold list should additional interview slots become available."

Me three. Perhaps everyone was "waitlisted" this year?

Well we have contact post-MSPE, and....
I'm wait listed at Georgetown, eh better than last year when they flat out rejected me!

Those dates for U of Wash have been listed on their web site for several months now.

The internet is the bee's knees for info!

I am a resident in the program. We were just emailed the official dates and I thought applicants would like to know. I remember how hard it was to coordinate interviewing all over the US.

Just FYI,

University of Washington orthopaedic interviews will be held on Saturday January 9th and Saturday January 23rd this year. We typically have an informal gathering on Friday for applicants with Chief Residents/Chair/Program Director, interviews on Saturday and an evening dinner on Saturday with all the residents.

Not sure when interview invites will be sent out, but you can mark these interview dates on your calendar.

I have also talked to a prog coordinator that sends them out in the same fashion.

Iowa made it sound like they were doing it in groups, for whatever that's worth.

I also know some programs send out invites to home/rotator students first to give them first pick of interview dates.

And then a second wave is sent later.

On a side note, most programs don't do this. Sometimes getting through is like calling a radio station.. If only I could be caller 93! haha

When scheduling an interview, I spoke with the program coordinator from one of the above programs. She was telling me that she sends out a handful of emails each day to avoid being hammered with massive amounts of calls and emails all at once. I'm hoping the majority of programs do this.
