The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the University of Mississippi Medical Center now offers a position for a medical school graduate interested in pursuing a career in academic orthopaedic medicine. This 7 year program begins with two years of research and, upon successful completion, will be followed by the standard five-year orthopaedic surgery residency. There are no ward or call responsibilities during this 2 year program. We accept one person per year. Salary for the first two years is equal to that of our PGY-1 house officers. Benefits are those of employees of UMMC.
