Having a bit of a dilemma, I did an away rotation at a highly respected Orthopaedic program and received an Honors. Not the dilemma. I had four evaluations from that rotation, 2 staff, one senior resident, and one junior resident. Of the four both staff and the Sr resident gave me great marks and great comments, and both staff openly offering to write LOR (which I did take them up on). The Jr resident however gave me all average marks and rated me at a Pass for the core (no comments on the sheet). This took me as a surprise because I thought we got along fine and there was never any specific incident that I could remember to p*$! him off. With that said, I now have two interviews for the same date, this program (which I very much did enjoy and got along with everyone great) and another program which I am also excited about. My question is which interview should I keep? Is the âPassâ from the Jr resident going to drop me on their rank list low enough that I should not interview at the program I rotated at (Which I had hoped to have a bit of an advantage due to the âinterview rotationâ). Opinions or similar stories are very much appreciated.
