So... I go to a smaller school in the midwest. There are 4 of us doing ortho. and for some reason, somehow, 3 of us ended up doing our away rotations at two of the same hospitals. My program director told us not to do this, that chances are no program will rank 2 students highly from the same institution. Is this true? Are we screwed? I set mine up months ago and can't change it now. I don't want to feel like I am competing with some of the kids from my own program on aways.
But, I show up today and am shocked to see the same kid I have been sitting next to in lecture for the past two years. Its like, what are you doing here? and then to make matters worse he tells me that my next away I will be with another one of our classmates who apparently just decided at the last minute he wanted to do ortho...
Thanks in advance for the advice... wondering if I need to cancel any of my upcoming aways or what...
