Baylor in Houston?
All I can tell you is that it is not a very friendly program -- from a couple of friends that rotated there (keep in mind that it all depends on your personality). If you are laid back and you want residents to help each other I would go to a different program --- Again I will stress I did not rotate there, but I have two friends that rotated there and they both did not like the program much

I graduated the Einstein (Bronx) program this past June, so I'm a biased in answering your question. I had a great experience there...as most recent grads will agree. The training is excellent, with a wide range of cases. It's top heavy, so PGY2 year is REALLY tough (lots of call), but 3rd year is much better and 4th and 5th year, you will mainly operate.
I'm in fellowship right now, and I must say that I feel well prepared and pretty comfortable in the OR and in conference. Everyone's passed the boards in the past 5 years, and we get good fellowships.
PLUS, you're in NYC...
Feel free to contact me with questions.
Good luck

I've gotta speak up and give props to Baylor, given the direction of this thread! I am sorry that gggrrr's friends had bad experiences, but I have rotated there and have worked with many of the residents, all of whom I've had great experiences with. TX itself is about as laid-back as you can get, and the chair is super nice and supportive.
It's an uncommon combination of a quite academic program in a prestigious medical center where you still get a TON of autonomy. The public hospital is super busy so when you're there you get to do a lot. While Houston may not be as good as Manhattan, I would tend to give it a leg up over the Bronx...
