I got a letter from a faculty member, who sent it to me 'for my records' after he submitted it to ERAS. It is a good letter, but I am wondering about the last sentence of the LoR.
"Darkshooter was a very clean-cut, well-dressed medical student. He always appeared well-rested and did not seem to be a substance abuser"
I have no idea why he put that line in there, I have never used drugs or anything in my whole life. This guy trained during the 70's, but I'm not sure if this type of line is standard in a LoR. I feel like some may see it as an odd statement, whereas others may ignore it.
I really want to use this letter because it is from an away, but before I assign it to programs I was hoping for some input, especially from the Program directors on these forums. Thanks!
