Hi everybody,
Soon to be MS IV who will be applying to ortho this September.
New to orthogate in terms of posting, but a long term observer.
Stats:
Step 1: 251
Step 2: TBD
Extracurriculars: check
1st and 2nd year grades: Somewhere in the top 3 of my class
Clinical Grades: all above 90 with psych pending
AOA: Junior AOA
School: Top 50
Research: 1 ENT project leading to a presentation and publication. Current projects- 2 in ortho that will lead to pubs and presentations (submitting one to AAOS). 1 ortho-related EM paper for a pub, presentation, and book chapter. 1 family medicine paper soon to be published. Writing another ENT paper now (soon to be completed). 1 medical law related presentation at an international conference early next year. Lastly, I'm working on another paper with the dean of my institution's PM&R department looking at the effectiveness of the resident's U/S training.
I know the vast majority of my research is not 100% finalized. This is due to my arriving to the ortho "party" a bit later than most. However, I am working my rear-end off to get these projects done. Assuming I am successful, what are your thoughts? Any potential improvements or advice this late in the game? Any input is truly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your time.
