Just wondering if anyone here has gone back to ortho residency after completing another residency already. Let me explain: I am 36 year old and have been working the last 5 years as a private pediatrician/primary care sports medicine doctor (after completing 3 years of pediatric residency and a 1 year primary care sports medicine fellowship). After having done this for 5 years, I feel like I want more. I do not want to be the guy who just keeps diagnosing the musculo-skeletal problem, I want to be the guy who can do something about it also. I know this may be impossible, but then again, anything is possible, right? Has anyone out there ever completed orthopedic residency as a second residency? If so, any advice for me? Any thoughts at all?
