I had a question regarding 4th year scheduling. I plan on doing 1 home rotation and 1 away rotation. My question was should I do a second away rotation or focus on research for 1 month with a possibility of getting a solid case study paper out of it and probably a very nice letter from my home chair, or should I go on a second away rotation. I plan on doing that second rotation pretty late which would end in mid october. My research experience isn't too heavy, so I could benefit from more research time. Can someone weigh in on this and their recommendation..thanks for the help!

I would strongly suggest a second away. You are not going to have a paper published during a single month, but you can make a strong impression at a program during that month. You can start working on it before you leave so that you can add it to your research section as an ongoing project, but there is little chance the paper is going to be done and accepted for publication while your application is being considered.
