1) How important, if at all, is it to apply on September 15 (as opposed to a day or two after)?

2) Do most people have one personal statement that they send to all the programs they are applying to, or do people have multiple versions of the same essay that are specific for each program they apply to?

Thanks!

1) I would apply ASAP. Have everything and ready to go for the day of submission. I don't know why you would wait. Honestly, I don't know if it matters all that much, but you'd rather not live off the difference in the competitive climate.

2) Personal statements don't matter in ortho as much as other specialties. Some don't even read them. I had different PSs for some schools, and my PS was mentioned in some interviews. It's kind of dealer's choice.
