The fourth year orthopaedic surgery rotation at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is an excellent experience for medical students. The four week rotation is divided into four one week subspecialty units. There is alot of time in the OR and adequate time allocated for time in the office with faculty. Our program has an oustanding surgical experience that starts early. The atmosphere is collegial amongst residents and faculty. Central NJ is a very nice place to live with many options. Based on feedback from those we interview who did not rotate, the consensus is a rotation would have been a good idea since they tend to be impressed by the program but had not heard much about it in the past. I encourage you to exlpore this as an away rotation during your fourth year. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
