I would have to echo Money's sentiment. I don't know much about the inside politics, but I interviewed and was very impressed. I had heard very good things, the hospital is pretty nice, the residents seemed pretty cool. The hospital seems to have lots of money (actually making money) and it shows-- they also seem to crap a lot of it in Ortho's direction. I'm not sure about this year's meetings, but in the recent past they have had A LOT of papers at ORS and AAOS, with a research interest much more than would be expected. In all, it's a very solid program with a lot to offer (even in addition to those mentioned in Money's post). I ranked it middle of the pack, but largely for geographic/logistical concerns in the end. But, if you don't mind Detroit (without the hockey), it would be a good alternative to Beaumont or UMich.
