Good question. I didn't rotate at the place I matched. You might get a better response on this question if you set up a poll. I've heard in the past that 50% of people that match did an AI (or home rotation) at the place they matched. At my school, of 8, I believe only 3 were "known" to the program they matched. And 2 of the 3 matched at home. Interestingly, 1 of the 8 matched at a place that two of us did rotate (we'll never know whether the two that rotated would've matched since they matched higher on their ROL). I think a lot of people match at places they rotate because 1) They rank places they rotate high on their list 2) The program is a known to the applicant just like the applicant is a known to the program 3) Interviews go much better at places where you know many of the people you are interviewing with (everyone is more calm and casual in the interview). Of course, I could just be plain wrong.
