Stupid question but.......are Loupes usually prescription glasses (assuming that one wears prescription glasses to begin with)??

I ask because I just found out that I have almost $3000 grand to spend on prescription glasses/contacts etc through my med school vision insurance. I need to spend this before graduation and I found out that I can spend this money on Loupes if they are "prescription."

Thanks a million.

I probably wont match and thus it wont make a difference!

I don't know much about loupes, but there are a few companies out there that make them, including Zeiss, Designs For Vision, and Surgical Acuity. I would Google those and look at their websites. You may be able to have them build your prescription into them and then you would be covered. Also, there is a loupes discussion in the resident forum (where I got this info) that you may get some more information.

Hope this helps.
